The Vozo Alternative for European Companies

Vozo costs less. Dubly delivers more: lip sync at 96.4 against 50.4 on the same footage, video processed in Germany, a written promise that your footage never trains a model, and a person who answers.

Short answer

Vozo is a low-cost AI suite; dubbing is one of its seven tools. Dubly does only dubbing. Pick Vozo for the price — it is the cheaper minute at every tier, with a permanent free tier, 165 target languages and on-screen text translation. Pick Dubly for the minute you can publish: 96.4 against 50.4 in an independent lip sync benchmark, processed in Germany, a written no-training promise, and a named contact on every plan — a person, not an AI reply. From €69 a month on the annual plan.

Vozo at a glance

A suite that does a little of everything

Broad, and what that breadth costs.

An all-round toolkit, not a dubbing product

Vozo sells AI points — a prepaid balance — that you spend across seven tools: dubbing, subtitles, on-screen text, lip sync, talking photos, voice and shorts. That breadth is the pitch, and it is also why the lip sync scores what it scores. The ladder runs Creator at $29 and Studio at $99, with two tiers above them that publish no price at all. Dubbing is our whole company.

Two things Vozo genuinely does better. Its language list is longer at both ends: 165 target and 111 source languages against our 40+ target and 100+ source. And Visual Translate replaces the text baked into the picture — slide titles, callouts, burned-in subtitles. We do not do that at all.

The paperwork is fine. It was never the question. Vozo publishes a full data processing agreement, a GDPR badge and SOC 2 Type II. What it does not offer is EU processing: its privacy policy says video may be processed in the United States, and its own DPA puts the infrastructure of third-party model providers outside Vozo's control. We process in Germany. What that means in practice.

The real bill, side by side

What a month costs — and what a minute costs

Dubly bills credits: one minute of dubbing is one credit, lip sync two. Vozo bills AI points across its seven tools: three points a dubbed minute, five plus five a minute for lip sync. The month below is the same on both sides — 50 dubbed minutes, 50 credits here, 150 points there. Our prices are net of VAT, Vozo's include tax, and the dollar figures are Vozo's own currency, left unconverted. Ours come from the pricing page.

Where Vozo is cheaper

Creator's 150 points are exactly this month: 50 dubbed minutes for $29, on one seat, with files up to an hour. Lip sync is where the plan moves — the same month lip-synced spends 525 points, which takes Studio at $99, or a point pack whose price is not on the pricing page. Either way, Vozo has the cheaper minute.

What the lower list price does not cover

  • Video processed in Germany, under German and EU law
  • A no-training promise with no second paragraph — Vozo's allows a model to be fine-tuned on your material for you
  • Knowing who else touches your video: Vozo's DPA puts third-party model providers' infrastructure outside its own control
  • A second seat — Creator carries one, and the tier that carries three is $99
  • Glossary, brand terminology and bulk upload, which Vozo starts at $99
  • API access, which sits in Vozo's Enterprise column
  • A named contact on every plan: a person, not an AI reply — at Vozo, from Enterprise up
  • Credits you buy once and keep — Vozo's points only work while the subscription runs
  • A video file longer than an hour, which Creator does not take
  • Lip sync at 96.4 instead of 50.4 on the same footage

Vozo is cheaper per minute, and it stays cheaper. A dubbed minute is $0.58 on Creator against our €3.38, and $0.44 against €2.58 once both are billed yearly. Lip-synced, this month moves up to Studio at $99, which is $1.98 a minute against our €6.58. The question is not which number is smaller, it is what the minute is worth. At 50.4 the mouth comes apart as soon as the speaker moves, so the cheap minute is one you check, re-cut or shoot again. At 96.4 you publish it. Processing in Germany, a no-training promise with no tier and a named contact are in the same price. The gap is what a finished video costs, not what a plan costs.

Watch it, don't take our word for it

Four clips where lip sync gets hard

Same footage, 1,000 test clips: 96.4 for Dubly, 50.4 for Vozo — the lowest score we have measured. These four cases decide whether a video is publishable. Method on the lip sync page.

The visual editor

The translation comes back finished — and you can still change every line of it

Text, voice, timing and lip movement already work together when the video comes back. For the moments where that is not quite enough, the visual editor lays the translation out as a timeline: every spoken line is its own block, and you hear each change before it reaches the finished video.

The visual editor: the translated video as a timeline. Every spoken line is a block you can move, stretch, split or re-voice — with lip movement on its own track underneath.

  • Put a line exactly where it belongs

Drag a block until the sentence lands on the cut, or only starts once something appears on screen. Nothing snaps into place; only the neighbouring lines limit you.

  • Set the speaking pace

Pull a block by its edge, or set the pace with a slider. It only goes as far as the voice still sounds natural, and shows you how long the line runs as you drag.

  • Split, add, leave out

Divide a long block in two. Write a new line into a gap and have Dubly speak it in the same cloned voice. Or drop a passage the target market has no use for.

  • Lip movement per moment, not per video

A second track shows where lip movement applies. Switch it on where someone is speaking on camera, and leave it off over product shots and slides.

  • Rewrite one line and hear it back

Change the source text, the translation, the pace or the voice for a single line, regenerate it and listen right away — nothing else in the video moves.

  • Nothing ships until you approve it

Your finished video stays untouched while you work. Every step can be undone, and the bar at the bottom leaves two ways out: re-render, or discard.

Why this matters in a comparison

When a single moment is off, the usual fix is to change the text and render the whole video again. Here you change the moment — its position, its pace, its voice, its lip movement — and the rest of the translation stays exactly as it was.

Why this comes down to Dubly

Four reasons the decision lands on Dubly

We are not neutral. Vozo does seven things; we do one. Here is what that difference is worth.

  1. Our no-training promise covers fine-tuning too

Vozo's privacy policy rules out training “any model used to provide the Services to other users” — and the paragraph after it allows a model to be fine-tuned on your content for you, isolated to your account. That is a real commitment, it applies on every plan, and it is not the same one. Ours has no second paragraph: your footage is processed and returned, and no model is trained or tuned on it. What that means in practice.

  2. Your footage stays in Germany, on every plan

Vozo's privacy policy says your video may be processed in the United States, and no plan offers EU servers. Their EU contract clauses make that legal, not local. We are a German company on German servers, under German and EU law. For a works council, that usually decides it.

  3. The person who answers is included, not an upgrade

At Vozo, a dedicated account manager, priority support and an SLA all sit in the Enterprise column; below it there is a support team and an email address. Here a named contact comes with every plan — and invoicing works the way your finance team needs it: purchase orders, payment terms and vendor onboarding, on every plan and without an enterprise contract.

  4. Length and headcount are not plan features here

Vozo's Creator plan takes a file of up to 60 minutes and carries one seat; Studio doubles the length, stops at three seats and costs $99. Lip sync takes an hour of footage at a time. We cap neither the length of a video nor the number of people in the account, on any plan — and one credit is one finished minute, two with lip sync, at a rate that is on the price list before you buy.

Why companies switch

Four things you get here and nowhere else

  • 96.4 lip sync score

Against 50.4 for Vozo — 1,000 test clips on the same footage, in an independent benchmark, published in full on the lip sync page.

  • Processed in Germany

A German company, German servers, no transfer to a third country. Our infrastructure has passed a TÜV SÜD penetration test.

  • A named contact, not an AI reply

On every plan, from the first euro. At Vozo a dedicated account manager, priority support and an SLA start at Enterprise — and purchase orders, payment terms and vendor onboarding come with ours.

  • No training, and no clause

Not “not for other users”, and no second paragraph that tunes a model on your material. Your footage is processed and returned — in writing, on every plan.

Switching, without the part everyone dreads

No migration project. Just a person who makes sure the first ten videos come out right.

  • A named person, not a ticket queue

One contact who stays with you through the changeover and knows your material.

  • A test run on your own footage

Upload a video you already translated elsewhere and compare. That decides it, not us.

  • Support for larger volumes

Back catalogues, bulk processing and API access — plus help planning it if you are mid-contract elsewhere.

  • Procurement on your terms

Purchase orders, payment terms, vendor forms — and a switcher offer if you are carrying an unused plan elsewhere.

The honest part

There is nothing to migrate. Videos are processed fresh either way: no import, no library to move, the same source files. What stays behind is unused AI points at Vozo — tell us how many.

So which one should you buy?

Vozo is the better choice if you…

  • Want more than dubbing from one tool: subtitles, on-screen text, talking photos, shorts
  • Need the longest language list: 165 target languages against our 40+
  • Have to translate the text inside the picture: we do not do that
  • Want a permanent free tier: Vozo has one, ours is one test video
  • Work in one of the 111 source languages we do not cover

Dubly is the better choice if you…

  • Want the best lip sync here: 96.4 against 50.4 on the same footage
  • Have real footage of real people who should keep their own voice
  • Have to say where the video is processed — ours stays in Germany
  • Want a person on the other end: a named contact, not an AI reply
  • Buy through procurement: purchase orders, payment terms and vendor onboarding, without an enterprise contract

FAQ

Questions people ask before switching

Including the ones where the answer is not in our favour.

Focus, and where the video is processed. Vozo sells seven AI tools from one pot of points, on US servers, and keeps its account manager, priority support and SLA for Enterprise. Dubly does one job — dubbing real people — on German servers, with a named contact and a no-training promise on every plan. Vozo has the cheaper minute; this page says by how much.

Dubly, and not by a little: 96.4 against Vozo's 50.4 in an independent lip sync benchmark across 1,000 test clips on the same footage. We rebuild the mouth frame by frame, which is what holds when the speaker moves — a hand across the face, a head that turns away, two people in one shot.

Yes. Voice cloning carries the speaker's own timbre and pace into the new language, so your CEO sounds like your CEO in Spanish. Vozo clones voices too. The difference shows the moment that voice has to match a moving face.

Yes, in one pass. Dubly separates the speakers itself and gives each their own cloned voice and their own sync — panels, interviews, two-handers. Vozo does it too: it auto-detects the faces, and you correct the ones it gets wrong in its editor.
