How deletion works

  • Project deletion. When you delete a project, the project record is removed. Dubs that were inside the project are not deleted — they're moved out of the project (unassigned) and remain in your dub list.

  • Dub deletion. When you delete a dub from its menu, the database record is removed and its associated files (source video, audio tracks, generated renders, lip-sync artifacts) are scheduled for cleanup from storage. Cleanup happens in the background shortly after deletion.

  • Translation Style deletion. Immediate and permanent. The style and all of its custom translations, pronunciations, and do-not-translate entries are removed.

  • Custom Voice deletion. Immediate and permanent removal from your account.

  • Account deletion. Handled as a support request. ask Dubby in the chat (bottom right) to start it; the team will verify it's really you (the account holder) before processing. On processing, your profile, organization memberships, and personal metadata are permanently removed. Any organization you own is handled on a case-by-case basis — either closed with you or transferred to another Owner you designate.

Deletions are not reversible. Download anything you want to keep before deleting.

Retention periods

Unless you delete content yourself, we retain it for as long as your account or organization is active. We do not currently run automatic purges based on inactivity.

Some data is retained separately for legal reasons:

  • Billing records — retained per applicable tax and accounting law (typically up to 10 years in the EU). These records live with our payment processor (Stripe), not in your projects.

  • Abuse and security logs — retained for the period needed to investigate and prevent misuse.

Legal and compliance holds

We may retain data beyond the periods above when required by:

  • Tax and accounting law

  • A court order or ongoing legal dispute

  • A documented security incident investigation

Holds lift and deletion resumes once the legal basis ends.

Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar)

If you're protected by GDPR, CCPA, or a comparable regulation, you can request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal data. ask Dubby in the chat (bottom right) to start the request; the team will verify it's really you (the account holder) and route it to the right people.
