Add the official EU AI label to your dubbed videos

Switch on the European Commission's official AI label per dub under Advanced settings: variants, positions, what it costs (nothing) and what it does to your video.

Dubly.AI can burn the European Commission's official label for AI-modified content straight into your dubbed videos. You switch it on per dub, it is free of charge, and it is off by default. This article shows where the option is and what it does.

General information only, not legal advice. Whether your specific video needs a visible disclosure is your call as the publisher; see the articles linked at the end.

Where to find the option

  1. Click Create Dub and add your video as usual (upload or YouTube link).

  2. In the settings step, open the Advanced tab.

  3. Under Advanced Settings, tick Show EU AI label.

  4. Choose a Label variant and a position, then finish creating the dub as usual.

The option works for uploaded files and for YouTube links alike.

What you can set

  • Label variant: Icon only or Icon with “AI modified”. Both are the Commission's official artwork, not a redrawn version.

  • Position: Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left, Bottom Right or Center. The default is Bottom Right.

There is no duration setting on purpose: a disclosure label stays visible for the whole video.

What happens to your video

  • The label is rendered into every target-language video of that dub. It is part of the video file itself, so it is included in every download and export.

  • The label is always burned in as the official black version, whatever your app theme shows in the preview.

  • It does not cost any minutes and does not change your plan.

  • You can combine it with your own watermark image. By default the two sit in opposite corners so they do not overlap.

Adding the label to a video you already dubbed

The label is chosen when you create a dub and cannot be switched on afterwards for an existing dub. To label a video you already dubbed, create a new dub of the same video with Show EU AI label ticked. If that is not an option for you, contact our support team and we will look at it together.

Good to know

  • The label covers the visible on-screen disclosure. Platforms such as YouTube, Meta or TikTok may additionally ask you to set their own “altered or synthetic content” flag when you publish.

  • Using the label does not by itself make a video compliant. Whether and how you must disclose depends on your content and where you publish it.
